Absolutely! Customers may now pick orders up from Authentic Luxary and select Neiman Marcus locations. Simply choose the “PICK UP IN STORE” option at checkout.

What is the Security Tag?

Each item we sell has a hang tag attached for security purposes. The tag is easily removed with a pair of scissors, however, the tag must remain attached in order to place a return.

Will Authentic Luxary merchandise be sold at Neiman Marcus stores?

Authentic Luxary merchandise will not be sold at Neiman Marcus stores, but in the future, we envision adding new offerings, such as luxury product drop off at select Neiman Marcus locations for direct shipment to Authentic Luxary. In addition, we will expand payment options for sellers, including an increased buyout price for those who opt to receive payment in Neiman Marcus gift cards.

Can I Shop Authentic Luxary’s Inventory In Person?

Currently, our Carlsbad location is booking appointments for a unique shopping experience. When you arrive, you’ll be handed a Authentic Luxary iPad to shop our inventory online. Using the ‘Options’ filter on our website, you’ll select the Carlsbad location to see what items are available to view and purchase in person. Select up to ten (10) items that you would like to view by placing them in your shopping cart and our inventory teams will send down your items for you to see. Note that you can also add items to your cart from the comfort of your own home as well, and simply log in during your appointment to have the items sent down for you.

If you need assistance or have any questions during your appointment, our trained Client Experience Specialists are on hand to help. We also invite you to call one of our Personal Shoppers ahead of time to get the full experience.

How long will my item(s) remain in my cart at Checkout?

Indefinitely. There is no time constraint on how long an item remains in your cart. It will stay there until it sells or you remove it. We’d love it if everyone was able to get the must have bag but sometimes it comes down to who is quicker on the draw. Create alerts for yourself to be notified when an item you’re looking for comes in, check often, act fast and good luck.

Does Authentic Luxary accept Returns?

Yes! We want you to be happy with your purchase.

All item(s) must be received at Authentic Luxary within 30 days of the ship date with tags attached in order to receive a full refund. Upon arrival, returned items are inspected and can take between 3-4 business days to process. Following return acceptance, refunds are processed to the original form of payment. Note that it may take your financial institution up to 5 business days to reflect the refunded amount.

For fine jewelry and watches returned within our showrooms, refunds will only be processed once the item(s) have been received back at our headquarters for inspection and acceptance. Please be advised that returns of fine jewelry and watches take an average of 10 days to process.

Items purchased on Reserve will incur a 10% return fee. Gift cards are not returnable. Authentic Luxary reserves the right to charge a 10% restocking fee to customers with excessive returns.

How do I Cancel an Order?

All orders that have not been shipped may be canceled within your Account. Note that canceling a Authentic Luxary Reserve Luxury Layaway will result in a 10% cancellation fee.

Does Authentic Luxary charge Sales Tax?

Authentic Luxary is required by law to charge sales tax on orders shipped to the following states:

Does Authentic Luxary Negotiate Prices?

We do not negotiate pricing for Authentic Luxary or Authentic Luxary Outlet. Prices are fixed at the amount indicated on the website.

Does Authentic Luxary ever have Sales?

Authentic Luxary does not offer regular sales events, however you can see the items currently on Discount here.

Why are some items priced above retail?

Although most items sold by Authentic Luxary are marked 60% to 80% below their original retail price, some items may be priced higher than the original retail price due to:

  • Vintage & Rarity – Vintage, limited edition, or special order items may exceed comparable current retail prices because of their market rarity.
  • Sold Out Item – When a particular item sells out completely at department stores, boutiques, or online, the item value may increase beyond its original retail price due to its scarcity and demand.
  • Dated Price Tags – Some items are several years old and have their original price tag attached reflecting a retail price from years ago. Due to price increases these items are now valued above the original attached price tag.

How are Authentic Luxary Item Prices Determined?

Authentic Luxary buyers research recent sales of comparable items and consider the retail value of the item, the condition and rarity, and current fashion trends. Other considerations when pricing are our own record of sales and online sales and auctions.

Authentic Luxary Reserve Luxury Layaway

When Will My Authentic Luxary Reserve Purchase Ship?

You will have 60 days to pay the balance and the item will be sent to you after the final payment is complete.

Does Authentic Luxary offer Layaway?

We do! Items listed for a minimum of 5 days are eligible for Authentic Luxary Reserve Luxury Layaway program.

Can I return a Authentic Luxary Reserve item?

Yes. All items must be received at Authentic Luxary within thirty (30) days from the ship date with tags attached to be eligible for a return. Note that for all Reserve items that are returned or canceled, 10% of the purchase price will be deducted from your refund as a Reserve return fee. Refunds are handled in the order in which they are received and are generally processed within 48 hours of receipt back onto the original form of payment. Be advised that it may take your financial institution up to 5 business days to reflect the refunded amount. To help avoid unnecessary returns, please read the description and view the photos carefully, in particular noting the size of the item(s) and any possible flaw(s).

Can I extend my Authentic Luxary Reserve Luxury Layaway?

We do not allow extensions on Authentic Luxary Reserve items. However, if you need more time than 60 days, you may cancel your Reserve and re-purchase it. This will be subject to the 10% Authentic Luxary Reserve cancellation fee.

Can I split my Authentic Luxary Reserve Payment into multiple payment methods?

We are not able to split the 25% down payment into different payment methods, however, you may use different payment methods per subsequent payment against your Reserve balance in amounts greater than $50. Your Authentic Luxary Account Balance may also be used at any time towards your Authentic Luxary Reserve Luxury Layaway.

What are the Terms of Authentic Luxary’s Reserve Program?

25% of the purchase price, including item sale price, shipping, and tax (if applicable) is required for a down payment to begin your Authentic Luxary Reserve. Payment must be made in full within 60 days of the Reserve start date. Authentic Luxary reserves the right to remove any item from Reserve eligibility. What happens if my Reserve isn’t paid off at the end of the 60 day term?

If full payment is not received by the end of the 60th day from initial payment, the Authentic Luxary Reserve will automatically cancel and the item will be placed back in our inventory to be sold. You will be refunded to the original payment method(s) all payments made up to that date, minus the non-refundable cancellation fee of 10% of the item’s purchase price.

What is the Reserve Cancellation fee?

10% of the total bags purchase price will be non-refundable in the event the Authentic Luxary Reserve is canceled, returned, or not paid in full by the end of the 60th day. To help avoid paying the fee, please read the description and view the photos carefully, in particular noting the size of the item(s) and any possible flaw(s).

Note that changing items during the duration of a Authentic Luxary Reserve is also treated as a cancellation and the 10% fee will apply.

What happens if I cancel my Authentic Luxary Reserve?

If a Authentic Luxary Reserve Luxury Layaway is canceled or returned, 10% of the item purchase price is kept as a cancellation fee. Changing items during a Reserve is treated as a cancellation and the 10% fee will apply.

Shipping & Customs

Who is responsible for Customs Fees/Taxes?

You as the customer will be responsible for any duties and taxes imposed by your country upon delivery of your item. Authentic Luxary does not have any foresight in regards to the potential fees. All items will be declared at full purchase price when shipped outside of the United States.

Does Authentic Luxary charge for shipping?

Standard US domestic ground shipping is FREE. Express & International shipping prices are determined by item size & destination so please refer to our shipping page for a specific price quote.

What shipping service does Authentic Luxary use to ship items?

Orders are shipped via UPS. At checkout, you may select Ground shipping, 2-Day, Overnight, or International Economy. All packages are sent with signature confirmation for security purposes.

What value does Authentic Luxary Declare on Customs Forms?

Due to strict customs regulations we must mark all customs forms as used items (not stating the brand), valued at the dollar amount you paid for the item (minus shipping).

Does Authentic Luxary ship to all Countries?

We ship almost everywhere, however, a few countries have customs policies that have made shipping luxury brand items very difficult. For this reason, we may not be able to ship items to Africa, Latin America, parts of Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

Do you Combine Shipping?

Separate orders to the same customer will not automatically ship as a combined delivery, however, we are happy to accommodate combined shipping on multiple items and/or orders where possible. Please contact us at (844) 619-8902 if you would like us to ship items together.

When will my item(s) be Shipped?

Items are generally shipped within 1-2 business days pending payment verification and processing. Deliveries are based on business days (Mon-Fri, except Holidays).

If I Have Received An Offer Online, Can I Drop Off My Item(s) At A AuthenticLuxary or Neiman Marcus Location?

Yes! You can get paid even faster by bringing your quoted item(s) in to your nearest AuthenticLuxary. How much faster? Leave with a check in hand, or earn 10% more when you select Store Credit or Neiman Marcus Gift Cards as your payment method! Call ahead to book your appointment and remember to bring a valid government-issued ID with you and any corresponding dust bags, boxes, extra straps, etc.

We now offer drop offs for quoted items at select Neiman Marcus locations! Simply select the drop off option on your Ship List and follow the on-screen instructions. Note that this option will only be visible and available for sellers within 100 miles of participating Neiman Marcus locations. For drop offs at participating Neiman Marcus locations, payment is issued once the item is received back at AuthenticLuxary and authenticated.

Does AuthenticLuxary accept shoes?

Yes. We accept a limited selection of designer shoes. They must be in like-new, unworn condition and must have a minimum resale value of $300.

How Long Is My Quote From AuthenticLuxary Valid?

You have thirty (30) days to accept or reject quotes from AuthenticLuxary, at which time the offer will expire. Once a quote has expired, you will need to resubmit your item on our quote request form. We request that you do not submit the same item more than one time in a 30 day period, regardless of which account you use.

What if my item is not authentic?

Seller attests all item(s) being sold to AuthenticLuxary are authentic. If any item is found to be not authentic, AuthenticLuxary will return the item to the seller upon payment of an Authentication Fee of $75, or $125 if the item is an Hermes Birkin or Kelly. Seller agrees to return any and all funds issued for such item(s) to AuthenticLuxary.

How and when do I get paid for my Consignment or Buyout Item(s)?

You may choose to be paid via the following methods:Store Credit (plus a 10% bonus!)Neiman Marcus Gift Card (plus a 10% bonus!)Direct DepositCheck sent by US MailPayPal (2.9% fee applicable)Wire Transfer (*$50 fee per transfer applicable)It is our goal to issue payments as soon as possible, which is why AuthenticLuxary issues Buyout payments on a daily basis and Consignment payments twice per week. Buyout payments are processed after the item has been received and certified for authenticity by AuthenticLuxary. Note that authentication may take one or several days, depending on the brand. Payment is processed for Consignment items after the item has been purchased and delivered to the buyer.

How does AuthenticLuxary determine purchase pricing?

AuthenticLuxary buyers conduct research and utilize proprietary tools to determine pricing. Data including recent sales of comparable items, the retail value, condition and rarity of the item, our historic sales, as well as current fashion trends inform the offers developed by our team.

Does AuthenticLuxary accept Clothing?

No. We are not accepting womens or mens shirts, pants, jackets or skirts at this time.

Does AuthenticLuxary offer pickup for my Consignment or Buyout Item(s)?

We do! Under our VIP Concierge service, sellers in select zip codes within NYC and North County San Diego can opt-in for a pickup on qualifying items. Simply select the VIP option on your Ship List when you accept our quote, and your personal VIP Concierge will get in touch to schedule a time that works best for you.

Do I Need An Appointment To Sell My Item(s) At A AuthenticLuxary Location?

Although walk-ins are always welcome, we want to ensure that you receive the level of service you deserve and recommend making an appointment. Selling appointments are based on how many items you are selling. On average, each item takes approximately 10 minutes to assess and authenticate and sellers like you walk out with same day pay. Some items, including Hermés Birkin and Kelly bags, as well as fine jewelry and watches may take a little longer to process and/or require additional review in our Carlsbad location. Our goal is to give you the most accurate and competitive offer during your appointment

Can I Sell To AuthenticLuxary From Outside The US?

Absolutely! After you have accepted the quote and agreed to the terms and conditions, you may print the ship list and ship your items to us using any courier you wish. Unfortunately, AuthenticLuxary does not cover the cost of International shipping. All shipping costs will be paid by you as the buyer. Please note that U.S. Customs duties and/or taxes are based on a percentage of the declared value. On occasion, the government will assess a higher value upon inspection of the shipment. If any customs fees are incurred, AuthenticLuxary will pay the fees upfront and split the total fees with you 50-50. Your 50% of the total fees would simply be deducted from your issued payment.

How do I ship my items to AuthenticLuxary for Consignment/ Buyout within the US?

We offer free insured domestic shipping for any items you send to AuthenticLuxary for consignment or Buyout within the continental United States. Once your quote submissions have been accepted by AuthenticLuxary, you may select either the free UPS or FedEx inbound label to ship your items to us. Print the label, along with your Ship List, for your AuthenticLuxary shipment.

Shipments sent from outside the continental U.S. such as Alaska or Hawaii must have a minimum of $1000 in quoted value to be eligible to print a free shipping label.

If you ship items to AuthenticLuxary using your own choice of shipping method, we require that you use signature confirmation with the carrier you choose. All shipments sent by your alternative choice of shipping method are not reimbursed by AuthenticLuxary.

Alternatively, you may drop items off directly at our Beverly Hills, San Francisco, Carlsbad or New York showrooms.

Consignment

How long will it take for my Consignment item(s) to sell?

Some items may sell within hours of being listed and fly off the shelf! However, other items may take weeks to sell. On average, handbags sell between 2 weeks to 2 months from the time it is listed for sale on AuthenticLuxary.

What is a Consignment Estimate?

After submitting your item through our online submission form, you will receive an email providing you with a Buyout offer or a consignment estimate. Consignment estimates are our best guess at what you will make when the item sells. These estimates are based on the average sale price of similar items, and their accuracy is limited by the quality and quantity of pictures and information provided in your initial request. Please be advised, consignment estimates are not guaranteed and are subject to change without notice once the item has been received and evaluated.

What is Consignment?

In contrast to our Buyout model where we buy the item(s) from you upfront, consignment is when you receive a percentage of the sale price after your fabulous item has sold and ships out to its new home. All consignment items are the property of the Consignor until they are sold.

Will my consignment items be discounted?

Yes. AuthenticLuxary items may be discounted in accordance with the following schedule:

  • If unsold after 30 days item(s) will be discounted 10%
  • If unsold after 60 days item(s) will be discounted 20%

  • If unsold after 90 days item(s) will be discounted 30%


What are AuthenticLuxary’s Consignment Fees?

As the Supplier of a consignment, you will receive 70% of any individual item with a sale price below $3,000, and 85% of any amount above the initial $3,000. For example, on a consignment that sells for $3,200, the Supplier will receive $2,270.

If a Supplier decides to terminate the consignment agreement before the end of the term, an early termination fee of $75, or $125 if the item is an Hermes Birkin or Kelly Bag, will apply per item returned.

What if my Consignment item(s) does not sell?

The majority of AuthenticLuxary Consignment items sell before the 90-day consignment term ends. However, if an item remains unsold, AuthenticLuxary will contact you to discuss keeping it available for sale at a reduced price or returning the item to you. Please note that AuthenticLuxary sells thousands of items on consignment and only a few items have been returned due to inability to sell.

Buyout

What is a Buyout?

AuthenticLuxary offers to Buyout your item(s) and issues payment to you upfront vs. when your item(s) sells (in the case of a Consignment Item). After authenticating and appraising an item’s value, AuthenticLuxary will typically offer a buyout price between 50% and 70% of the item’s resale value. All items sold to AuthenticLuxary as a Buyout are final once payment has been issued.

BuyBack Program

What items are available for the BuyBack Program?

The 70% BuyBack Program applies to most items purchased from AuthenticLuxary. However, it does not include shoes, sunglasses, and items originally priced under $300.

Additionally, the BuyBack Program does not include Items that have suffered excessive wear or damage after their purchase from AuthenticLuxary.

How do I submit my item(s) to the BuyBack Program?

After purchasing an item from us you will see a “Sell Back” link in your AuthenticLuxary Account for 180 days. Simply click the “Sell Back” link, print the ship list and free shipping label, and ship your BuyBack item(s) to us! Payment will then be processed within 48 hours of receipt of your item.

What is AuthenticLuxary’s BuyBack Program?

Items purchased from AuthenticLuxary may be sold back to AuthenticLuxary for 70% of the item’s purchase price within 180 days of the purchase date. It is a fabulous way to continue your handbag journey, reuse and recycle! Saving the earth one handbag at a time!
